What actually happens when you run a scan
PagePolisher isn't a black box. Here's exactly what gets checked on your product pages, how the scan itself runs, and how your score gets calculated.
What we check
Real descriptions
Flags listings with no description, or one so short it doesn't actually explain what the product is or why someone would want it.
Brand names
Catches product pages missing a brand or manufacturer name entirely, a common trust signal shoppers look for before buying.
Spelling & grammar
Reads the actual page text and flags typos and grammar mistakes in titles and descriptions, the kind that undercut trust fast.
Duplicate content
Compares descriptions across the products on your site and flags ones pasted identically across different listings.
Broken images
Checks whether the main product image actually loads, one of the fastest ways a page loses a shopper's trust instantly.
Missing prices
Flags product pages where no price is shown at all, a quiet conversion killer that's easy to miss on a busy catalog.
The process, step by step
You paste your store's URL
No login to your store, no app install, no code changes. Just the web address of your storefront or a specific category page.
We crawl your product pages
A real browser visits your pages the same way a shopper would, reading the actual rendered content, not just raw HTML, so JavaScript-built storefronts get checked accurately too.
Each page gets checked against the list above
Descriptions, brand names, spelling, duplicate content, broken images, and missing prices, the same things a person would look for doing this by hand, just done consistently across every page instead of a few at random.
You get a scored report
A letter grade, a breakdown of what was found and how much it matters, and enough detail to go fix it, exportable as a PDF or Excel file on paid plans.
How your score is calculated
Every issue found gets weighted by how much it actually matters to a shopper. A missing description or missing brand name counts as high impact, since those are the things most likely to make someone leave without buying. Spelling mistakes and other smaller issues count as medium impact. Your score reflects the total weighted issues against the number of products actually checked, then converts to a letter grade, the same A+ through F scale a report card uses.
What we don't do
We don't store a copy of your report's contents on our servers after your session ends, we only keep a simple daily count of scans used so your plan's limit can be enforced. We also don't touch your store, nothing gets edited or changed automatically, the scan is read-only, you decide what to fix and when.
